Authentic Labs has a unique and proprietary material, which, when applied to products, allows consumers to authenticate the item using an app on their smartphone.
To date, most authentication solutions are designed to protect a manufacturer’s business with hard to read, complicated and layered security that provide track and trace and anti-tampering measures for products within their supply chain. For the most part, consumers ignore these labels, trusting that a security label’s presence implies that the product is not a counterfeit. Further, consumers have no easy method to ensure a product is legitimate and authentic prior to purchase.
With Real, consumers can easily scan Real labels to authenticate and verify products, learn more about those products (such as origin, ingredients, care and handling) and research detailed corporate social responsibility efforts of well-known brands – and this information can be referenced at any time.
Our research overwhelmingly suggests that consumers care if they are purchasing genuine products, especially when those products carry some risk in their use (such as replacement auto parts, medicines, pharmaceuticals, food, and even toys). As consumers become more conscious about the products they buy, they also increasingly care about the companies they buy from. It is not enough for brands to make quality products, consumers expect these products to be made ethically and sustainably as well. Product impact on people and the planet is highly considered within purcahse decisions.
